I like rules and I like safety and Portugal don’t mess around with either! Our first jaunt into the ocean promptly had the lifeguard blowing her whistle and demanding the kids stay shin-deep in the water. There kids were horrified. Their favorite activity is body surfing and getting pummeled by waves. Every time they ventured too far, we got a whistle and a stern talking to. I gotta admit, I loved it.
