  • Living Desert Zoo inPalm Springs!
  • A run-in with the Vigilante and Bad Master
For those who have travelled with me, you know I have a particular interest in learning a little about the places we visit through their language. To those we meet along the way who are well trained in English this is somewhat annoying with a limited vocabulary and butchering of their native tongue. However at… Read more: A run-in with the Vigilante and Bad Master
  • Boris
And for all those on the edge of your seats….Boris finally earned $5 for good behavior, on the very last day. Better late than never?
  • That’s a wrap!
Our last few days in Switzerland were filled with swimming, dinners lakeside, castles and adventure parks. What an incredible experience. The kids are excited to go home. I’m always a Little sad to leave Europe. Here’s what they’ve missed the most: 1- dasher- we made friends with every dog we met while traveling. The kids… Read more: That’s a wrap!
  • Montreux
I do most of the travel planning for our family but I left the last few days to Kerry to plan. I knew the general area we wanted to go and let him book the accommodations. Let’s just say, he knocked this one out of the park! Darling apartment, lake front with the cutest restaurant… Read more: Montreux
  • Chocolate Making
The kids got the opportunity to attend a chocolate making workshop in Interlaken. All-you-can-eat chocolate? Bring it. Best part? Kerry and I sat in the bar with a delicious beer while they learned all about why the Swiss have the best chocolate.
  • Random Swiss Fun Around Every Corner!
We are at the third location, out of four, in Switzerland and continue to be amazed by all the adventure and fun.
  • Day 16 of follow me as I take you through Switzerland and Portugal
By: The Amazing Eleanor Forell Day #16 Going to Switzerland We woke up at 4 a.m and we could have all slept more because security took us literally 5 minutes to get through. Then we sat and waited for our 8 O’CLOCK flight, so basically we waited for 3 hours😴. Finally our flight arrived and… Read more: Day 16 of follow me as I take you through Switzerland and Portugal
  • Day 14-15 of follow me as I take you through Switzerland and Portugal!
By:The Amazing Eleanor Forell Day #14-15 the last two days of Portugal 😢 In the last 2 days of Portugal before we went to Switzerland, we did 3 things: go to the best water park ever, going to a fun little golf course, and going through lots of pain to get my hair braided!
  • Questionable parenting?
#456 on the “questionable parenting” list…. Canyoning/rock climbing! Sam has a deep desire to climb mountains and this was a request of his. As usual, we had to convince our guide that Owen was fine to participate (apparently 7 years old is a little young?). Have no fear, he rocked it. Seriously one of the… Read more: Questionable parenting?
  • Ode to the third child
I write this to you, to read at a further time… It’s been amazing watching you push yourself through challenges built for much older kids. Your dedication to keeping up with your older siblings is admirable. when you turned “9” in Switzerland, and grew two inches (thanks to me stuffing your shoes) so you could… Read more: Ode to the third child
  • Switzerland, we ❤️ you
What I love: What I don’t love: Paying a small fortune for everything else!! This place is expensive. Meal at McDonalds? 17 franc (equivalent to about $17)
  • Switzerland!
We made it to Switzerland! Took the train from Geneva to Zermatt and once we stepped off the train, I nearly passed out- this place is so. Darn. Cute! It really looks like it’s from a movie set. We took a gondola up into the mountains and did a combination of mountain cart and kick… Read more: Switzerland!
  • Friends from Oregon!!
Finally meet up with our friends from Oregon! Yay for dinners on the square and endless bottles of cheap wine!
  • Safety Sally
I like rules and I like safety and Portugal don’t mess around with either! Our first jaunt into the ocean promptly had the lifeguard blowing her whistle and demanding the kids stay shin-deep in the water. There kids were horrified. Their favorite activity is body surfing and getting pummeled by waves. Every time they ventured… Read more: Safety Sally
  • Golf in the Algarve!
Kerry forced, I mean requested, a day of golf! As usual, there was a lot of money on the line ($20 for par, $1 every time a kid beats mom, etc). The kids walked away with a bundle of cash and I got my ego handed to me on a silver platter.
  • Day 7-13of Follow me as I take you through Switzerland and Portugal
By:The Amazing Eleanor Forell Day # 7-14 some other stuff Sooooo……. I know I haven’t been posting so here is basically all I can think of from those days!
  • Boating
Had an amazing day on a sailboat with two other families. Kerry and I were proud that we were the only adults not throwing up over the side of the boat from sea-sickness. Winning!! Ships ahoy!
  • Tavira!
We made it to our third stop- Tavira! It’s a charming fishing village with lots of restaurants and shops. Our hotel also has the long awaited kids club (hallelujah!). Slip and slide, laser tag and crafts galore!
  • Owen vs Chocolate
We have a rule on vacation. Mandatory ice cream, every day. Owen takes it to a new level. This kid uses chocolate as sunscreen.
  • This is the life …

They thought if you sailed to far out you would fall right off of Earth. Obviously that was not true. Day #5 (b)… Read more: Day 5 of Follow Me As I Take You Through Switzerland And Portugal!

We are a few days into our time in the Algarve, currently staying in the beach town of Alvor. Megan once again strikes gold, finding the perfect balance of not too big and not too small as Alvor is just our size, a place where you can walk to almost everything but with plenty of… Read more: Alvor – Beach Life
  • Role reversal
When we started to plan this trip I came up with the brilliant idea to lock all devices away in the morning, only re-emerging at night time. The kids decided to take it one step further. They put screentime locks on both the adult phones. Only they know the password, and if I want to… Read more: Role reversal

By: The Amazing Eleanor Forell Day #3 the long train ride! It took forever it felt like, we (surprisingly) woke up at 11 and quickly went to the train station.
