Ode to the third child

I write this to you, to read at a further time…

It’s been amazing watching you push yourself through challenges built for much older kids. Your dedication to keeping up with your older siblings is admirable. when you turned “9” in Switzerland, and grew two inches (thanks to me stuffing your shoes) so you could participate in mountain carts and kick bikes, you owned your new age and confidently told the mountain guide you had no problem rappelling 70 feet down the side of a cliff.

You have also fine tuned your ability to drive us all bonkers. Constantly kicking, shoulder bumps and generally finding the way to push ALL of our buttons. We even tried to implement a strike system, where after three strikes you lost your daily ice cream. Did it work? Nope, you went three days without. Next we offered to pay you to behave. $5/day. Let’s just say your bank account has remained the same.

Bravo to you for being both the best 7 year old and the most challenging- all at the same time!

Also, he hasn’t brushed his hair in weeks. We call him Boris.
